New Kids Costumes at Quality Pedal Cars
Our Aeromax Costume line has GROWN at QualityPedalCars.com! We're proud to present the 6-12 month size of our most popular costumes as well as the addition of three new costumes, the Knight Costume, Pirate Costume and three different colors of the Princess Costume - Pink, Princess Costume - Purple and Princess Costume - White:
Aeromax Baby And Toddler Costumes - Launch A New Crop Of Trick Or Treaters
We're all used to Halloween nights filled with stuffing candy into the pillowcases of adorable pirates, astronauts and race car drivers. But this Halloween will be different.
Instead of hearing cat shrieks and ghostly howls, you'll notice the sound of squeaky stroller wheels. That's because Aeromax, the award-winning maker of children's and adult's costumes has created a brand new costume wardrobe for babies ages 6 to 12-month-old.
Don't hold it against them that this new crop of Halloweenians won't yell, "Trick-or-Treat" when you open the door (they can't actually talk yet!) Once you see them, the "treat" will be all yours; there is nothing cuter than a baby dressed in an Aeromax Jr. Firefighter costume.
Ten of its best-selling costumes are being introduced for size 6 to 12 months for 2008. And not only did Aeromax focus on making the costumes both comfortable and adorable, but they included important features like snaps in strategic places and
little footsies, too. Retailing at $29.95, the adorable selections include:
· Jr. Airline Pilot Costume
· Jr. Flight Suit Costume
· Jr. Police Suit Costume
· Jr. Armed Forces Pilot Costume
· Jr. Racing Suit - choose black/white or red/blue.
· Jr. Astronaut Suit - choose orange or white.
· Jr. Firefighter Suit - choose black, tan or yellow.
Older trick-or-treaters (including mom and dad) will also have their own new costumes. That's because Aeromax is introducing a fun, new line of fantasy-themed costumes. Made for dress-up lovers from 18 months through adult, wearers will likely collect candy in these costumes for many years because of the high quality of fabric, stitching and attention to detail.

November Pedal Car Updates!
Here are some updates to our site that I would like to tell you about.
First of all, navigating around the site can be fairly easy, but if you don't know what you're looking for, then we can't help you. That is why, we put our "search" bar on the top left hand corner. Now all you need to do is type in what you want and if we have it, a quick search will reveal where to find it.
There were other minor changes, but finally, one of the more major changes has been that in addition to providing easy access to the search bar, we have split our products out by category and by brand name so that if you do know exactly what you want from our store, it will be easy to find.
Some new webpages we have created for this purpose are listed below:

Pursuit Pedal Plane History
Pursuit Pedal Plane - Viktor Schreckengost.
The Midwest Museum of American Art took part in a nationwide centennial celebration of the 100 year old American Designer, Viktor Schreckengost, exhibiting his famous Pursuit Pedal Plane. Nearly 130 institutions began exhibiting his works last December 2005 and will continue exhibiting Schreckengost's works until December 2006.
Schreckengost is known for being a pioneer in industrial design, creating thousands of products since the 1930s. Almost every American has used one or more of the products he has designed from storage items to items to cool your rooms with.
The Midwest Museum showcased one of the products Schreckengost is famous for, the "Pursuit Pedal Plane," borrowing from one of the largest pedal car collectors in America, David and Denise Sanders of the Pedal Power Museum in Elkhart. This toy pedal plane was designed in 1941 for the Murray Company which at that time helped to make the Murray company one of the largest manufacturer of pedal planes and other pedal toy products.
Katharine Lee Reid, Director of The Cleveland Museum of Art, describes Schreckengost as "the last major surviving figure from the first age of industrial design."So, if you are a museum enthusiast, you will not want to miss out on the Schreckengost exhbitions. Just Google "Schrekengost Exhibitions" and you will be able to find information on where the nearest exhbit to you has been or will be.
The Cleveland Museum of Art shares a little of Viktor Schrekengost's pedal plane history with us:
In the 1940s, Schreckengost's designs for children's pedal cars (as well as bicycles and toys), helped Murray, Ohio become the world's largest manufacturer of pedal cars. His design and ceramic work was interrupted by World War II, when he was recruited by the Navy to develop a system for radar recognition that won him the Secretary of Navy's commendation. After the war, Schreckengost resumed his industrial design career creating products for Murray, Sears, General Electric, Salem China Company, and Harris Printing, among others. Approximately 100 million of his bicycles were manufactured by Murray, making it the largest bicycle-maker in the world. He retired from industrial design in 1972, but continues teaching at the Cleveland Institute of Art.
The Viktor Schreckengost National Centennial Celebration is organized by The Viktor Schreckengost Foundation and Schreckengost Exhibitions in honor of his 100th birthday. Viktor Schreckengost was born on June 26, 1906 in Cleveland, Ohio.

What Exactly is a Pedal Car?
Pedal Car Defined!
I have been asked this question over and over again from family and friends and thought, Oh Wow! Something so obvious to me may not be to you, so here is a definition I pulled from Wikipedia.org:
"A pedal car is a quadracycle. The Mochet Velocar seems to be the earliest example. Although originally designed for adult transportation, the popularization of motorized vehicles resulted in most modern pedal cars being made mostly for children and adult recreation."
An example of a Mochet Velocar can be found here: Mochet Velocar

Antique Pedal Cars in the News!!! - June 2006
So much news for such little cars - Antique Pedal Cars, that is!
So, do you want to hear more antique pedal car news? It's very true that these little pedal cars are really making a come back in their fame. What was once a bygone era is now a phenomenon - The rise of the antique pedal car.
In Anderson, South Carolina there will be a display of antique pedal cars at the Anderson Convention & Vistors Bureau. Kevin Niehaus of Anderson Independent-Mail featured an article entitled "Pedal to days gone by" and wrote the following:
Visitors to the Anderson Convention & Visitors Bureau may notice something a little different on display at the facility.
The convention bureau has begun to display antique pedal cars from the 1930s, 1940s, and 1950s. The pedal cars are metal toys that children of those decades would ride. Think of an early — really early — Big Wheels, with an extra wheel.
What is so different about these pedal cars that makes them so popular? They are foot powered similar to bicycles. Remember the Flintstones? When they wanted to "start their engines" they would run in place and then zoom off using just their foot strength. Well, pedal cars are propelled like bikes, one foot rotation at a time.
This is appealing to parents and children alike, because this is awesome exercise for kids and they love the look of their wheels too. Getting them to exercise is 1-2-3!
Back to the Anderson County antique pedal display, Niehaus' article continues:
Glenn Brill, executive director of the bureau, said the car displays would be changing every three months.
"We’re going to have six new cars every three months," Mr. Brill said. "Because the owner of the cars, Mike Cannon, has over 150, it will take us more than six years to get through them all."
So, do you want to see these antique pedal cars?
Here's the address and hours of operation for The Anderson Convention and Visitors Bureau:
110 Federal St., Suite 8, inside the Anderson Arts Center Warehouse in downtown Anderson. The center is open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
The cost to you? There is no admission charge for the display.

Antique Pedal Car News!
Guess what! For all you antique pedal car fans out there, I found some
more pedalcar news for you and I am glad I could bring it all here to
the Pedal Toys Blog!
So,
what's in the news? It's the fact that those who are really into
collecting classic cars can and have downscaled to a more affordable
antique pedal car version of the real thing. However, purchasing an
antique pedal car may not be as inexpensive as one may think. The true
antique pedal cars can be worth hundreds of thousands of dollars.
I found this really great article at Projo.com,
written by Peter C.T. Elsworth who shared thoughts from Dave Kleepsies,
owner of D & S Pedal Car Restorations in Phoenix, Ariz.:
...restoring
a car from the 1920s can double its value, he said. Cars from 1920s and
1930s are particularly valuable, with Packards made by American
National Company and Gendron Wheel Co. (which merged in 1927) from the
1920s the premium collectibles. Such cars are practically miniatures of
real cars in terms of the level of detail and their surviving numbers
can be counted on one hand.
Kleepsies added that pedal cars from
this period are also rarer than post-war cars not only because they
were made so long ago but because many were scrapped for the war effort
during World War II.
How much are such antique pedal cars worth? "I know a gentleman who has three cars and $200,000 invested," he said.
At Quality Pedal Cars.com we feature many antique pedal car versions for those of you who are not looking to spend thousands upon thousands.
Up
and coming we will be featuring the '55 Classic Pedal Cars, Jalopy
Pedal Cars, more Firetruck Pedal Cars and lots of other fun pedal car toys, so stay tuned. We look
forward to serving you! Look around our store and buy now because we are currently offering FREE SHIPPING for the 48 contiguous U.S.
States!
1932 Ford Roadster Pedal Car (Henry Ford Car)

There will be a production of 10 pedal car versions of this quality car. Warehouse 36, one of Quality Pedal Car.com's manufacturers, has donated "a special edition “75 th anniversary” pedal car representing the
famous '32 Ford Roadster." World Car Fans.com shares this information with you in detail and also states that "these 10 one-of-kind
customized collectables, personally autographed by Edsel B. Ford II,
will be auctioned in late 2007, with the proceeds divided between the
Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) and the charity of choice
of each builder."
Baby Suri (Tom and Katie) - Fantasy Flyer Pedal Plane
I was looking over at Celebrity Baby Blog and found out this about Tom and Katie's little Suri:
As is her custom, Ellen gifted Tom and Kate/Katie with a pram. Because of Tom's love of flying and his "Kiss Me Kate" plane, Ellen gave them a pink airplane pram (that was really a ride-on Fantasy Flyer airplane with a hood) and a black satin flight suit and sunglasses with her name embroidered on it. (...below is the plane that they customized by adding extensions to the wheel legs and stenciling Suri's name on the side).
It's such a beautiful pedal plane for a little girl. Good job Ellen!
This Pedal Plane is on sale now and the shipping is free!!!
